In this option we recommend you to use air transportation. The trip lasts 1 hour from Lima. You have to rest before arriving there due the altitude sickness. Cusco is a mixed race city. When you walk its streets you will find traces of the colonial period built over Inca constructions. Its outskirts offer interesting places: the town and the chapel of Andahuaylillas, the Fortress of Ollantaytambo and the town of Pisaq, these are some examples of the endless of attractions in Cusco that are crowned by the presence of the Citadel of Machu Picchu.

The road starts from Cusco to the Nacional Park of Manu, the trip takes between 9 and 12 hours approximately (until reaching the towns of Atalaya and Shintuya), then we have a trip by river that Hill take 5 or 6 hours. If you want, there are flies to Cusco –Boca Manu (30 minutes), then it is necessary to continue the trip by river (4 or 6 hours). In Manu you will be able to appreciate the huge number of species it has among plants, birds, insects, butterflies, mammals, reptiles, etc; as well as the amazing ecosystem that protect them.
We recommend you to visit Manu between the month of May and August, don’t forget to take sun block and insect repellent.
